Worship and Media Team

Worship Team

Purpose

Motivated by God’s love for us and a hurting world, Worship Team seeks to assist Trinity Christian Reformed Church so that believers give glory to God in public worship. This corporate worship will draw persons to Christ, and will inspire private worship and service in all of life.

Objectives

   To achieve the stated purpose, the following objectives have been adopted:

  1. The Team will administer the worship at Trinity.
  2. The Team will promote the use of relevant worship at Trinity.
  3. The Team will provide opportunities for members of Trinity to learn more about worship.

Membership

The membership of the Team will consist of seven (7) members of Trinity. A Church Council member will also be appointed to serve as a member of the team and as a liaison with the Council. The Pastor(s) will serve in an advisory role on the Team. Director of Ministry will be used as a resource for the team.

Gifts that will be valuable for this team are creative communication, administration, leadership, helps, and discernment.

Terms of Service

The terms of service will initially be for three (3) years and will be staggered. The Council may ask a team member to serve for more than one (1) term.

Areas of Responsibility

The areas of responsibility include:

  • Maximizing meaningful participation and use of member’s gifts in worship.
  • Develop leadership in worship.
  • Supervise and coordinate the worship planning team.
  • Receive yearly report from a Children in Worship representative which includes a synopsis of the past year, positive, negatives and requests for assistance.

 

Media Team

Purpose

Motivated by God’s love for us and a hurting world, the Media Committee seeks to invest ourselves in a ministry that will directly support anything that goes forth from this church requiring audio, lighting, video, graphics, or any other form of technical or stage support, in a manner that is pleasing to God, and will provide for a better reception and understanding by all those who are touched by our efforts.

Objectives

  1. To effectively enhance, complement and serve the worship, word and pastoral ministries of Trinity.
  2. To aid, direct and inspire members in worship and attention to the word.
  3. To assist in vision casting through professional graphics, imagery and videos.

Membership

The committee shall have eight (8) members: one Council member acting as a liaison to the Council and seven (7) members. The Minister of Church Life will serve in an advisory role on the committee. Appointments are for three (3) years and can be renewed for another three (3) years with the approval of the Council. Terms should be staggered to assure continuity. The membership shall appoint a Chairperson, Camera Sub-chairperson, Projection Sub-chairperson, Sound Chairperson and a Secretary. Spiritual gifts that will be valuable for this committee are craftsmanship, administration, leadership, and serving.

Areas of Responsibility

The areas of responsibility include:

  1. Operation of sound, projection and camera systems during church services and events as requested.
  2. Operation of sound and projection systems outside of the sanctuary.
  3. Playback of services on cable TV during predefined times for our services and contracted churches.
  4. Proper lighting in sanctuary during services.
  5. Operation of portable sound system for functions outside of church.

Job Descriptions

Chairperson (may serve in this capacity after serving on the committee one (1) year)

  1. Call and lead all general and special media committee meetings and provide members with an agenda prior to the meeting.
  2. Work with the Sub-chairpersons to coordinate volunteers and efforts for services and special events.

Camera Sub-chairperson (May serve in this capacity after serving on the committee one (1) year

  1. Ensure camera operators get required training to properly operate cameras.
  2. Ensure a quality broadcast/rebroadcast of events on the cable TV channel.
  3. Coordinate volunteers to operate cameras, record services/events to videotape, and playback of services on the cable TV channel.
  4. Checking in/out of video tape recordings of the services.

Projection Sub-chairperson (may serve in this capacity after serving on the committee one (1) year

  1. Ensure projector operators get required training to properly operate the Sanctuary Projection System and potable Projection System.
  2. Coordinate volunteers to operate Projection Systems.

Sound Sub-chairperson (may serve in this capacity after serving on the committee one (1) year

  1. Ensure sound system operators get required training to properly operate the Sanctuary Sound System, Fellowship Hall Sound System, Agape Room Sound System and the Portable Sound System.
  2. Coordinate volunteers to operate all sound systems.

Secretary

  1. Record and type all minutes of the committee.
  2. Provide copies of the minutes to all committee members, the pastor and the permanent file.
